What AntiqBot does
Identification determines what an object is, maker, period, origin, style. Valuation determines the market value in euros. AntiqBot does both, but a formal valuation report for legal purposes requires a certified sworn appraiser.
Porcelain and ceramics, silver and metalware, furniture and design, clocks and watches, collectibles and curiosities. Paintings partially. Gemstones not at all.
No. AntiqBot analyses are indicative in nature and have no legal value. For inheritance, insurance or sale we recommend a certified sworn appraiser.
Limits & honesty
Partially. AntiqBot analyses style period and technique. Judging a painting through a photograph is like tasting a wine through a description, without handling the work, feeling the paint layers, examining the craquelure and assessing the body of the canvas, any genuine conclusion is impossible. More than 60% of paintings offered as antique or attributed to a known master in Belgium are incorrectly attributed. We do not make attributions to specific artists.
No. Gemological identification requires physical instruments, loupe, refractometer, spectroscope. No photo analysis replaces that examination.
Photos & privacy
Photograph in natural daylight. Take photos of the whole object and the details, stamps, signatures, base. Neutral background. Multiple angles. The more you show, the better the analysis.
Yes. Uploaded photos are used solely for the analysis and are not shared with third parties.
