The service

Photo analysis. How it works.

Upload a photo. Receive expertise. Know what you have.

The process

Three steps. Seconds of work.

AntiqBot works entirely through photo analysis. No appointment needed, no transport to an appraiser, no waiting for availability in an appointment calendar. Upload a photo and receive a detailed analysis within 1-2 minutes based on more than 30 years of hands-on antique dealing expertise. The technology analyses style, material, production technique, period, and geographic origin, the same factors an experienced antique dealer would assess, now automated and available 24/7. This is not guesswork: the system is trained on more than 20 specialised AI modules, each built around decades of knowledge of specific categories. Photo upload takes literally 10 seconds. Waiting for the answer takes 1-2 minutes. No hidden costs, no subscription required, no obligations after your first free analysis.

Better photos

How to get the best analysis.

The quality of your analysis is directly linked to the quality of your photographs. AntiqBot's algorithms analyse colour accuracy, texture, shadow, proportion, and detail sharpness, the same visual signals an expert antique dealer would examine. A poorly lit or blurry photograph drastically limits what the system can see, resulting in less accurate findings. Follow these practical guidelines for the best possible result, these are the same techniques professional antique dealers and auction houses use before physically examining and valuing pieces. Invest a few minutes in good photography, the difference between a vague and an accurate analysis can be tenfold in terms of valuation.

Daylight (not flash)
Photograph in indirect natural daylight, near a window or outdoors in shade. Camera flash creates harsh shadows and erases fine details like craquelure in glaze, patina on metal, or wear patterns. These details are crucial for accurate dating and identification.
Multiple angles & perspectives
Top, bottom, front, back, and sides. For single large objects: all four sides. For decorative items also detail photos of interiors or working mechanisms. The more perspectives you show, the more visual context the system has for accurate analysis and period placement.
Base marks & signatures (macro)
This is often the key to everything. A clear close-up of base marks, maker signatures, factory markings, or hallmarks can mean the difference between "unknown" and "identified Meissen 1880s" or "Birmingham silver 1920s". Use your phone's macro mode or a magnifying glass photo. Shoot this separately if you are in poor basement lighting.
Neutral background
White or light grey paper or fabric as a base. This helps AntiqBot perform accurate colour analysis. Avoid busy patterns, competing colours, or reflections that distract from the object or fool colour sensors.
Sharp focus & macro mode
Blurry photographs drastically limit analysis. For signatures, marks, and refinement details: use macro mode. Modern phones have excellent macro capabilities, activate this for detail shots of wear, stamps, and fine work.
Condition & damage (full context)
Show damage, repairs, chips, cracks, rust spots, and restoration work. This is not negative, it forms an essential part of valuation. A pristine piece and the same piece with visible repair or replacement of parts can differ by a factor of 2-5 in market price. Honest documentation of condition is crucial for accurate assessment.
